What is an Implant?

An implant is made of 3 components.

Dental Implant components

There is a titanium screw which acts as the root of your new tooth coated in an active surface material which attracts new bone growth.

It takes time for bone cells to create enough new bone to allow pressure on the implant.

This is why we don’t place a crown on the implant too early or the bone will disappear and the implant will fail.

A post is attached to the titanium screw to accept a crown.

The crown/over structure/tooth is the final part of the implant.

Dental Implants are a simple, and permanent solution to substitute missing teeth by replacing the natural root of ta lost tooth with titanium implant upon which new crowns and bridge work can be carefully crafted.

Indistinguishable from natural teeth, dental implants provide a reliable alternative to uncomfortable dentures or bridge work or can simply replace a single missing tooth.
